Amanda (centre) with her team of helpers

We are delighted to announce that Amanda Manship has been chosen as our candidate for Esher in May’s local elections.

Amanda lives in Esher with her family and works at a local Primary School. She has a track record of working for our local communities of Esher, Lower Green and West End.

She is a trustee of Lower Green Community Centre and has been volunteering and working for over 11 years on local community projects. These include helping set up the East Elmbridge Foodbank, children’s activities, cooking and gardening projects.

Amanda jointly set up CCTC (Cranmere Community Traffic Concern) to address traffic and parking in near to Cranmere School, working successfully with the school and Surrey CC to help local residents keep their existing parking and gain more.

She is currently working to open access to the network of riverside paths that link Esher with East Molesey and Hersham, and replace the dilapidated skate park at Lower Green as well as opening up Thames Water land for public use.

Amanda is a very active member of the Esher community and has been speaking to many residents on the local issues that matter most to them. These include protecting our Green Belt, local traffic issues and stopping the Esher residents group and Liberal Democrats implementing a local car park tax. Amanda would continue the work of local Conservatives like the regeneration of Lower Green, stopping the Sandown Park development and turning Esher Theatre into a vibrant asset for our community.

Being elected will mean that Amanda can serve her community even more, bring a fresh perspective and be a strong local voice for all of Esher, particularly for young people and families.

Esher County Councillor Steve Bax said: "I've known Amanda for several years since our children were in school together. I am delighted she has put herself forward to be a councillor since I know she would make an exceptionally good one. I hope as many Esher residents as possible vote for Amanda in May."
