Last weekend, John Cope joined Claygate Youth and Community Hub for their first ever Hub Fest where they opened their new games room in honour of Teddy Read. Teddy, a hub member, tragically passed away last November due to epilepsy.
In memory of Teddy, his family asked for donations to be made to Claygate Youth and Community Hub. The donations have been used to kit out the games room with a TV complete with Xbox, computers, air hockey and table football. Thank you to all the support from Surrey County Council too.
Thank you to all the amazing volunteers at the Hub – it was wonderful to join you and see the fantastic work you do for young people like Teddy.
The Hub is open for free-to-all youth sessions on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings for 11–19-year-olds, and on Wednesdays for 11-16s sports night. Volunteers and session helpers are always needed too. If you would like to get involved at the Hub and volunteer, you can find out more on their website here.
