Conservatives have gained two seats in this year's Surrey County Council elections - meaning they now hold 58 of the 81 seats.
In Elmbridge, local Conservative Rachael Lake won Walton back from the Walton Society by 141 votes. She held the seat previously from 1997 to 2005. Incumbent councillors Mike Benninson, Margaret Hicks and Tony Samuels were re-elected in their respective seats of Hinchley Wood, Claygate & Oxshott, Hersham and Walton South & Oatlands. Newcomers Mary Lewis and Christian Mahne triumphed in Cobham and Weybridge respectively.
Residents Associations held The Dittons and West Molesey seats, and very narrowly held East Molesey & Esher as Conservative candidate Steve Bax was edged out by just 24 votes. For the full results please go here.
Thank you to everyone who supported their local Conservative candidates.
