My name is Amanda. I am married with two teenagers and have lived in Esher since 2003. I’ve been volunteering and working in the local area for over 12 years, following my passion of helping and encouraging people to secure better futures for themselves.
My volunteering started in Lower Green, Esher at the Community Centre, and this led me to becoming the Community Facilitator, engaging with local people to initiate projects. These projects included a Foodbank, children’s activities, gardening, cooking and other projects. Subsequently I jointly set up Kingdom Fruit CIC, which successfully sold fruit and veg in the local areas of Esher, Molesey and Walton, and to local businesses in Esher. In response to residents’ concerns, I set up Cranmere Community Traffic Concerns (CCTC) to address traffic and parking, working successfully with the school and SCC to gain more parking.
I am a Trustee of a local charity Lower Green CIO and continue to work closely with the community. Previously I qualified and practised as a Property Lawyer along the south coast and London. I have also worked as a teaching assistant for 6 enjoyable years at a local primary school. Currently I am involved in solar farm projects.
I believe in integrity and compassion. With a proven track record working locally over 12 years, closely with local people, listening and taking action with their concerns, I am the best candidate for the role of Borough Councillor.
I would love to represent Esher, Lower Green and Hersham to serve my community even more, bring fresh perspective and a strong local voice for all.
