Important elections will be taking place on 5th May to decide who governs Elmbridge for the next two years.

Unusually, this year all seats on the Council will be up for election, following the boundary changes which resulted from the Conservative Administration's bold decision to streamline the number of councillors from 60 to 48. The Conservatives are the only party in the borough to field a full slate of candidates in all 16 of the new wards.

Leader-elect of the Conservative group, and Esher candidate, Councillor Tim Oliver said: "Elmbridge continues to be not only one of the highest performing Councils in the country but also one of the most sought after boroughs to live in. Conservative councillors will do all they can to maintain our residents’ quality of life by keeping increases in council tax to the minimum, investing in your borough, opposing inappropriate development and continuing to deliver high quality efficient services to our residents."

As Conservatives we believe in value for money as well as open, transparent and effective democracy. That is why as Conservatives we have eliminated unnecessary and wasteful expenditure from Elmbridge Borough Council achieving savings of nearly £10 million over the past 7 years. We delivered on our pledge to reduce the size of the Council (it had the most elected Councillors in Surrey).

Conservative controlled Elmbridge has a strong record of keeping down Council tax over the past 10 years whilst at the same time protecting and improving the services our residents rightly value. Please support our candidates on 5th May to keep Elmbridge in safe hands and moving forward with confidence.
