Our Plan for Esher and Walton constituency includes improving accessibility at local train stations so those who use a wheelchair, are pushing a pram, or have heavy shopping can still use the station.
Following our successful campaign to improve accessibility at Walton Station, it has been great to follow the progress of works to install the new footbridge with lifts – funded by the Government’s £390 million ‘Access for All’ scheme.
This weekend will see the installation of the new footbridge, which will result in some unavoidable disruption whilst the works are carried out. Details include:
- A full closure of Mayfield Road from 20:00 Saturday 2 September – 06:00 Monday 4 September.
- Lane closure with temporary traffic lights on Station Avenue between 07:30 Saturday 9 September – 20:00 Sunday 10 September.
A full diversion route will be in place on both weekends.
