Strengthening local NHS services and securing more investment is vital. As well as backing the new health centre planned for Walton, John has been working on speeding up the rebuild of the Weybridge Health Centre after the national government confirmed the funding and backed the project many years ago. Since the funding was confirmed, delays in local consultations and the local planning system have slowed the rebuild down to the enormous frustration of local people.
I'm pleased to say it has finally been given the green light to be rebuilt by early 2026. Given the government funded this project many years ago, the local delays and endless consultations need to now stop holding the rebuild back from being completed.
The new site is going to have GP surgeries, urgent care, diagnostics, mental health facilities, and other community services. It is scheduled to be completed by early 2026, as confirmed by the NHS here: www.northwestsurrey-alliance.org/news-centre/nwsnewsweybridgecampusupdate-2939
